  1. Measure around your head: Grab a tape measure and stand in front of a mirror or ask someone to help you. Place the tape measure around the widest part of your head, which is typically about an inch above your eyebrows and ears, circling around the back of your head. Ensure the tape measure is level and snug but not too tight, and take note of this measurement.
  2. Consult a size guide: Compare your head measurement with the helmet size guide provided by the manufacturer. Different brands may have slightly different sizing charts, so using the one specific to the brand you’re considering is essential.
  3. Choosing Between Sizes: If your head measurement is between two sizes, start by trying the smaller size. A helmet should fit snugly without causing discomfort. If the smaller size feels too tight, then try the next size up.
  4. Try Helmets On in Person: It is recommended to try helmets on in person for the most accurate fit. A proper fit means the helmet sits comfortably on your head, with the top of the helmet's just above your eyebrows. It should not move around when you shake your head.
  • You must size down if your helmet feels loose around your cheeks.
  • Try moving your helmet around your head. If your helmet freely moves, you must try on a smaller size.
  • Try pushing your helmet in an upward motion from the base of the helmet. If your helmet begins to come off, this indicates that you will need a smaller size.
  • Bend your head forward and backwards as far as possible. If the chin guard touches your chest or your helmet touches your back, you should get a smaller size.
  • If your helmet feels too tight and uncomfortable around your cheeks and the upper back of your head, you must opt for a bigger size.
