The old jug had a flat seam seal, while the new one has a button seam seal, providing superior durability and leak protection.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe jug’s construction has also changed. The Gen 2 model was a single-layer plastic jug, while the Gen 3 model is a multi-layer jug, improving strength and durability.
